This was an ok read. The story could have focused more on the characters and less on superfluous details that didn't really contribute to the story. Vincent's character wasn't too much different from Tyler's. He was verbally and psychologically abusive to Ivy.

Obsessed Zebra Romantic Suspense Susan Andersen 9780821768228 Books Reviews

Thrill seeking book, amazing!
I'm not going to say that this book was necessarily a page-turner, but it did have a good plot and a very sinister antagonist. It's definitely worth reading, it's just not the kind of book that I'd stay up all night to read.
I'm re-reading this book and still love it. She has included everything I, as a fan, want to see in a drama/romance book. There's drama, romance, sex and fun. And, Ms. Andersen does them all so well!
I enjoyed this book. At first, the hero was a little hard to like, but by the end of the book, you love him. I thought it was a real page turner. I would have liked more background on the bad guy, though. That's why 4 stars. I will read more of Susan Andersen's stories.
I don't read much romantic suspense, but I imagine this is how they should be done and it seems like Anderson is at the top of her game here. There's a very scary serial rapist on the loose. This aspect of the book was well handled. I was freaked out and on the edge of my seat (figuratively) the whole time. As for the hero, Vincent D'Ambruzzi, oh my... he burns up the pages like it's no body's business. I want one. I don't know if he's exactly worth all emotional trauma he puts Ivy Pennignton through - he's suspicious to the point of paranoia, jealous and downright nasty a lot of the time, eaten up with little boy insecurities that she's cheating on him. So he was burned by his ex wife - who's conveniently demonized as a slut and is referred to as "The Bitch." This past trauma doesn't make up for or excuse his treatment of Ivy, who is a smart, strong heroine, a hard working doctor, and someone I like, respect, and can root for. D'Ambruzzi doesn't realize how lucky he is that Ivy deigns to give him the time of day by the time of the book's conclusion, let alone that she sticks around for the long haul. But perversely, Vincent's pig-headed antics, his crappy treatment of Ivy can't detract from my overall enjoyment of Obsessed. It completely sucks me in - the suspense, the grittiness, the dark tone of the novel, its fast pace, and the explosive chemistry between Ivy and Vincent. In a word hot.
This book was just okay. Didn't really keep my attention. I skipped a bunch. I was totally bored with the characters. I would hope a educated doctor would act more grown up. The cop was very abusive and having a hard time with a doctor putting
with his actions. Not enough of a mystery to keep me interested.
Loved this book. This author has an amazing range of talent -
some of her books are playful, some suspenseful in the manner of
Iris Johansen or Karen Robards but with hotter sex scenes. This
book was a bit darker than 'Exposure' or 'Present Danger'
without the dialect to give it a slightly fun feel/charm to it.

I think people would be less confused by which form of her
writing they're getting if she used a pseudonym for her
distinctive styles.
It was thought provoking with the subtle twist in the sub-plot
of a cousin's tangled feelings for his 1st cousin - feelings
that might be termed star-crossed by some but more accurately
could be termed a lower key version of an obsession by others.
A thoroughly enjoyable romantic suspense - one for the keeper
shelf.
This was an ok read. The story could have focused more on the characters and less on superfluous details that didn't really contribute to the story. Vincent's character wasn't too much different from Tyler's. He was verbally and psychologically abusive to Ivy.
