It got it all. Murder, suspence, mystery, romance, blood, hotties, a kickass heroine, a creepy villain etc etc..

I wasn't sure I would have liked this book when I started it, but I'm glad of having been wrong for once. It was a very good read. And I couldn't put it down. It was a shame only that it was a little short. I finished it in just about 8 hours.

I liked Kira a lot. She's funny, determined, sunny, strong, brave. A real kickass heroine.
Daniel and Milo... Ahh, the two hotties of the story! Very hot and sexy! And so romantic at times! Swoony!
My favorite though was Milo, even after his revelation. That was a shame. I guess I teamed for him. So sweet and sexy!
Rowen... he was kind of scary. And weird. And then I got to know the reason. I wouldn't have imagined! That was a surprise!
Zach... very creepy. He was just totally insane. To say the least.
But you'll see. You've got to read it!
You'll find yourself trying to understand who's the murderer and will suspect anyone, wanting to solve the mystery.

Being a vampire and living forever? Believe it or not, it really wasn't Kira's first choice. More like her only choice. I mean, if you found yourself lying in the road, dying in a huge puddle of your own blood, and someone offered you the option of being undead for eternity instead of just plain dead, you'd probably say yes too. Still, Kira wishes she'd never had to make the choice. Adjusting to vampire life isn't as easy as she thought it would be. And yeah, she did make a teeny, tiny mistake with a human boy at her last school, but she is totally over that now.

That's why it's so grossly unfair that her `vampire parents' give Kira the `we-know-you're-responsible' stink-eye when a boy turns up dead (okay, dead with telltale fang marks) at her new high school. They've given her one week to find the real killer or they'll punish her for the crime - which she totally did not commit. So now, Kira has three boys - hot, yummy boys - to investigate and no idea how to prove that one is both a vampire and a killer without giving her own undead state away. Being Nancy Drew would be so much easier if she didn't have to worry about showing her fangs.

Tamara Summer's Never Bite a Boy on the First Date is the perfect antidote for anyone who feels like they're overdosing on emotion-saturated paranormals with dark and heavy themes. I'm not denying that this is a bit of fluff, I'm just saying that it's really, really good fluff - well written and genuinely funny. Kira is a likable detective and her investigations into the three suspects provide plenty of laughs and a few serious moments. Overall, a light and breezy paranormal mystery with witty dialogue and just enough romance to add spice.
I loved this book! I was glued to it. The characters just pulled you in. I'll definitely be 're-reading it again and telling other vampire story lovers to read it as well.
My daughter, who is 12, is not a big reader but she needed a book for school. She started reading it and couldn't put it down. She is absolutely engrossed this book. Now if I can just find more like it, I can keep her reading.
Once I started I couldn't put it down. The author's lighthearted, witty tone made this book one of thee most enjoyable things I've read to date. The main character is flawed, as all teens are, but she's okay with it. She knows how to work her, ahem, assets and doesn't take issue with the fact that her life isn't entirely normal anymore. I love the twist and how it connected past and present. (People who have read the book will know what this means, but I really don't want to give anything away.) I loved all the characters and how you were never quite sure who our beloved main character would 'end up' with. I read this in five hours (give or take two hours I had to put it down for a Doctors Apt.) and I'm keeping it even though I made a mess of it by dropping it in a puddle of slushy snow. Keeper shelf! I promise.
